A life of practice
I'm Kate
A teacher, a mother, a student, a lover of nature and of science.
Led by curiosity
For years, I used to make clothes, creating shapes around the body. The way fabric folds across the torso tells you a lot about an individual’s posture. I noticed small adjustments to stance changed the fit and look of a garment, and my curiosity grew. I began to teach yoga, this time creating shapes with the body. The way individuals move tells you a lot about where muscles are tight or weak. I noticed small adjustments to movements can change the way an individual feels, and my curiosity grew.
Into discovery
I’m now studying for a degree in Physiotherapy, learning what it takes to make those shapes, adjustments and movements, and still my curiosity grows. The more I lean in, the more I learn, and it seems the less I know. So, I go a bit deeper, observing human function, our capacity, the things that form us physically, emotionally, and energetically and all the links between. I am curious about our connection to ourselves to each other and to nature, listening to and engaging with the innate cues from the body to find balance.
“I never really liked yoga until I went to Kate’s classes. She has a way of teaching and explaining the class that’s very unique and somehow you feel like you know what you’re doing even when you don’t. Time flies by and I always feel great the day after.”
